Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This guide sums up everything Rockstar has confirmed and points to the full guide on each topic. It is updated whenever something official changes.

When it comes out

  • Launch: November 19, 2026.
  • Preload: from November 12, for anyone who pre-ordered.
  • History: the game was first planned for fall 2025 and then for May 26, 2026, before the current date. See what we know about the release date.

Which platforms

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version. A PC version has not been announced; Rockstar's track record suggests it will come later, as we explain in GTA 6 on PC.

How much it costs

In the US, US$79.99 for the Standard Edition and US$99.99 for the Ultimate Edition; prices in other countries vary by region and store. Pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack. The physical version comes with a download code, not a disc. All the details are in the price and editions guide.

Story and protagonists

The game follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a couple who end up on the darkest side of Vice City after a simple job goes wrong. It is the first time a woman is a playable protagonist in the main series. During action, you can switch between the two characters.

Map

The story takes place in the state of Leonida, inspired by Florida. Besides Vice City, Rockstar has shown Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. See each region and the cast in the Leonida guide.

Radio and music

Six radio stations have been confirmed, including the return of Flash FM and stations hosted by Bad Bunny, Burna Boy and Slayer. For the first time, you can listen to the radio on foot. The list is in the radio stations guide.

Trailers and gameplay

There are two trailers, from 2023 and 2025, and nearly half an hour of gameplay in the August 2026 Extended Look. See them all in order in the trailers guide.

Leaks

In August 2026, clips leaked by a group called CyberLeek circulated online, and Rockstar confirmed they were real. We don't publish or link the material. Full coverage is in our CyberLeek article.
