Sony revealed on Wednesday (October 14), on the PlayStation Blog, the games joining the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog in October. The highlight is Mafia: The Old Country, a game from 2K, which belongs to Take-Two, the same company that owns Rockstar. The lineup also marks the return of Horizon Forbidden West and brings the classic Dino Crisis 2 to Premium subscribers. Most of the games become available starting October 20.
PS Plus Extra and Premium games
- Mafia: The Old Country (PS5): a third-person action-adventure about organized crime in early 20th-century Sicily, starring Enzo Favara.
- Horizon Forbidden West (PS5 and PS4): the open-world RPG starring Aloy returns to the catalog. According to VGC, it had left the service in 2024.
- Mycopunk (PS5): a co-op shooter for up to four players against fungal aliens. It launches straight into the catalog on day one, October 20.
- The Midnight Walk (PS5): a dark stop-motion adventure with clay characters that can also be played in virtual reality with PS VR2.

Premium only
Subscribers on the most expensive plan get two more games in the classics catalog: Dino Crisis 2, the survival horror game originally released on the first PlayStation, and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition, an amusement park sim. Time-limited trials of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell II also arrive on October 20.
Dates for each game
According to Sony, the full lineup is available starting October 20, with some exceptions. The Midnight Walk arrived on Wednesday (October 14) in the United States and the United Kingdom. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, Tales of Arise and Monster Energy Supercross 25 arrive on October 27 in the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan. The blog does not detail release times for other regions.
Sony also announced this month's extras: Back 4 Blood's first expansion, Tunnels of Terror, is free for Extra subscribers from October 21 to November 4, and there are Halloween-themed items for World War Z and Dead by Daylight.
Why it matters for anyone waiting for GTA 6
Mafia is one of the best-known crime series after GTA, and The Old Country joins the catalog as an appetizer for November. Going the other way, PS Plus is about to lose GTA V itself: as Portal GTA 6 has already reported, the 2013 game leaves PS Plus Extra and Premium on November 17, two days before GTA 6 arrives. Sony has not yet released the full list of games leaving the service next month.
