Sony and Polyphony Digital have released the free Spec IV Part 1 update for Gran Turismo 7. It brings six new cars, the Sportsland Sugo circuit and new modes, and came with the reveal of a limited-edition DualSense celebrating 30 years of the series, with pre-orders starting October 22.

What the update adds

According to the PlayStation Blog, the update went live for all players at 11:00 pm PDT on October 14, which is October 15 in Europe and Japan. An internet connection is required. GTPlanet reports it is version 1.72, at roughly 7.5 GB on PS5.

  • Six cars: Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, Ferrari F355 Berlinetta '94, Honda Civic Si Group A '87, Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo '26, Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line '23 and Citroën 2CV6 Charleston '86. Buying them requires in-game credits.
  • New track: Sportsland Sugo, which GTPlanet describes as the first new Asia-Oceania circuit since launch and the first post-launch circuit with optional rain.
  • Events and modes: six new World Circuits races, new Scapes locations, the Car Viewer feature and Experience mode.
  • Progression: according to GTPlanet, the Collector Level cap rises from 70 to 90.

The 30th anniversary DualSense

In the same post, Sony showed the DualSense Wireless Controller – Gran Turismo Limited Edition, with racing stripes and a textured, carbon-fiber-style front plate. The recommended price is $84.99 (€84.99 and £74.99). Pre-orders begin October 22 at 10:00 am local time through PlayStation and participating retailers, and the global launch starts December 10. Quantities will be limited. Prices and availability vary by country.

What comes next

GTPlanet and Racing Games GG indicate that Spec IV Part 2 arrives in December 2026, with the Autumn Ring track, six more cars and a Family Mode. These details come from the outlets and do not appear in full in the announcement we checked, so we treat the exact date as unconfirmed.

Why it matters

Nearly five years after launch, Gran Turismo 7 keeps receiving free content on a regular cycle, and Sony is using the series' 30th anniversary to sell collectible hardware as well. For players the update is free; the controller is an optional, limited-run item.
